Weston Residence

Completed in late 2025, this home was rebuilt following significant fire damage, transforming a period of loss into an opportunity for refinement. Demolished back to the existing slab, the reconstruction allowed the clients to reconsider the original layout and incorporate thoughtful alterations and additions to better support their evolving lifestyle.
The form is defined by skillion roofs and raked ceilings, with highlight windows and skylights introduced throughout the dwelling and alfresco area to bring consistent natural light into the interior. A number of large sliding doors strengthen the connection between the two living areas and the outdoor entertaining space, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor flow suited to both everyday living and entertaining.
The plan delivers four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a dedicated media room, and an open-plan kitchen, living, and dining zone at the heart of the home. A concealed butler’s pantry is tucked discreetly behind the kitchen, accessed via a batten-lined door that blends seamlessly with the surrounding wall.
Externally, a cohesive palette of contrasting dark and light finishes, including Fairview Genesis and Weathertex cladding, adds depth and character. Warm timber accents soften the contemporary forms, while a custom steel entry door anchors the street presence. Internally, an industrial-inspired palette is balanced with subtle warmth, creating a home that feels both robust and welcoming.
Delivered in close collaboration with the clients and builder, the project reimagines the original dwelling as a durable, light-filled residence designed for long-term flexibility and modern living.
